Feast of the Cross
The Coptic Orthodox Church celebrates the Feast of the Cross in remembrance of the discovery of the Holy Cross by St. Queen Helena and the victory of our Lord Jesus Christ over sin and death through His Crucifixion.
The Church celebrates this feast twice a year: Tout 17–19 (September 27–29) and Baramhat 10 (March 19). These celebrations remind us that the Cross is a symbol of salvation, sacrifice, and God's boundless love for humanity.
Fasting: The Feast of the Cross is celebrated as a joyful feast. The Church does not observe its usual Wednesday and Friday fasting restrictions during the three-day September celebration. However, the March feast may fall during Great Lent, in which case the Lenten fast continues.
