Our Catechism Class is an invitation to discover the faith, worship, and spiritual life of the Coptic Orthodox Church. Whether you are considering becoming Orthodox, exploring Christianity, returning to the Church, or simply hoping to understand the Orthodox faith more deeply, you are warmly invited to join us.

Rooted in Holy Scripture and Apostolic Tradition, catechism is more than a series of lessons. It is an opportunity to encounter the teachings of the ancient Church and learn how the Orthodox Christian faith is lived through worship, prayer, the Sacraments, fasting, service, and a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

What We Explore

Throughout the class, participants may learn about Holy Scripture, the Holy Trinity, the person of Jesus Christ, salvation, the early Church and Church Fathers, the Divine Liturgy, the Sacraments, prayer and fasting, the Virgin Mary and the saints, Coptic history and tradition, and everyday Orthodox Christian life.

Questions are welcomed and encouraged. No previous knowledge of Coptic Orthodoxy is required.

Interested in Becoming Coptic Orthodox?

For those interested in joining the Coptic Orthodox Church, catechism provides an opportunity to learn about the Orthodox faith and begin a spiritual journey under the guidance of the Church.

Because each person's journey is different, reception into the Church is approached personally and pastorally. Those wishing to become Orthodox are encouraged to speak with one of our priests regarding catechism, Baptism, Chrismation, and the next steps appropriate to their circumstances.

Who Can Attend?

Catechism is open to anyone who sincerely wants to learn more about the Orthodox Christian faith. You do not need to have decided to become Orthodox in order to attend. Visitors, inquirers, friends, family members, and those simply seeking to learn are welcome.

We invite you to attend the Divine Liturgy, meet our Church community, ask questions, and to join us for our virtual Catechism class every Tuesday from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM CT as we explore the teachings, traditions, and faith of the Coptic Orthodox Church. All are welcome!
